Yesterday I paid a trip to the delightful Foxhills Golf and Country Club in Ottershaw, near Woking.
I have been commissioned to photograph the wedding of Matthew Lange and Danielle Butler on Friday 21st January, with the ceremony taking place at Guildford registry office and the reception then following at Foxhills.
I had never previously been to Foxhills prior to this visit, and I have to say that I was indeed very impressed – it was beautiful – featuring a 19th Century Jacobean mansion surrounded by the lush greenery of the impeccable golf course.
So I left the car, camera in hand and set about scouting around the premises for potential shots that would offer the best composition and interest for the bride & groom portraits.
I certainly wasn’t disappointed with what I found, there were numerous features and natural offerings throughout that caught my eye whilst ‘framing-up’ my visual list.
As a result I have added some of these ‘frames’ below for all to see – to give you an idea how I go about my research ahead of a wedding – I always visit a venue beforehand to explore the photographic possibilities. It allows me search out the locations that offer the best composition, lighting and textures to capture the strongest portraits for my clients. It also ensures that come the wedding day I know exactly where we will take what pictures, and eases the stress levels for all involved, as well as maximising the couple’s time more efficiently.
Anyway, here are some of my frames for all to see…
