Commercial Shoot for the Abbeyfield Society in Sutton, Surrey

This was a rather fun and endearing commercial shoot.

It was for the Abbeyfield Society who are a charity that help the elderly, and run over 500 residential homes over the country.

I was commissioned to photograph the Abbeyfield’s newly appointed Chief Executive, Natasha Singarayer, swap her role for a day to instead go and cook a meal for all the residents at one of their homes in Sutton, Surrey.

Ironically, the particular home that the shoot took place at, unbeknown to me at the time, had once upon a time been the home of one of my grand parents many years ago! Spooky!

The point of the shoot was to capture images of Natasha undertaking her role in the kitchen preparing the meal for the residents, and then also interacting with the residents before and during the meal itself.

The point of the exercise was that Natasha wanted to experience first hand, what their staff do, and also get a feeling for the homes and how certain things work and or could possibly be improved.

It was a really lovely job to be involved with – watching Natasha interact with both the staff and residents, and for me too, to also meet some of the elderly residents.

One thing for sure, it certainly opened my eyes to what the staff at The Abbeyfield Society, and many other residential homes across the UK offer and provide to the elderly.

Here’s some of the photos from the day here below…

Lauri & Chad’s Wedding at Kingswood Golf Club

Old habits die hard, and again I’ve fallen back into not posting too frequently on here!

So, get the ball back rolling again, I thought that I’d pop up a video slideshow of one of my weddings from earlier this year – the wedding of Lauri & Chad, who tied the knot at St John’s Church in Belmont and then had their reception at Kingswood Golf Club, in Kingswood, Surrey.

If any of you know St John’s church, there is a large stunning stain glass window at the rear of the church above the balcony… when I first saw it, I just knew that we had to get a portrait of the bride and groom stood in front of it.

You’ll see this in the slideshow 🙂

A couple of lovely testimonials from recent weddings

It’s always rewarding when my couples take some time out to write a small testimonial reviewing the service and photos that they received.

I always fully appreciate the time and effort that it takes them to create account and then physically type up a short review.

Every now and then I like to share some of these, as firstly I’m proud of how people feel about my photos and my involvement on their special day, and also secondly it’s a great way to show unbiased feedback and endorsements of my work from people who have booked my services.

We couldn’t be happier with our wedding pictures…they capture our day, guests and the venue beautifully. Sam had an ability to capture everyone perfectly without you even noticing him clicking away.

Not only is Sam a great photographer he is also a good guy, he kept me calm and laughing through torrential rain, challenging guests and put up with my lateness with a smile on his face the whole day.

Everyone at the wedding mentioned how great he was and just how lovely the pictures are. He also managed to win over some very temperamental page boys and flower girls.

Thanks Sam!

We couldn’t have asked for any better photographer from start to finish. Sam was professional, friendly and thorough throughout the whole process of our wedding.

He was always in contact with us and always gave us great ideas and honest opinions. He was so organised on the day and made us feel at ease and we didn’t have to worry about anything.
The end result could only be described as fantastic. The photos were awesome and the hardest part was choosing the photos for our album as they were all so good. Sam also accommodates you if you have any particular requests and on the day, everything was like clockwork and kept to the itinerary.
He even went the extra mile and stayed longer than he should to get some evening shots of guests. We have recommended Sam to all of our friends and we will have no hesitation using his services again in the future for events and we would recommend him to anyone.

Commercial Photography for Hunters Estate Agents in Carshalton

As many of you will know, I quite often undertake commercial photography work alongside my staple diet of weddings and portraits.

These types of jobs generally range from corporate head shots of management and staff, through to more illustrative images of how a business works, it’s environment and or possibly a product(s).

Regardless of the genre, it’s always lovely to see when your images are being put to good use and are out there ‘working’ for the client.

I have seen a great example of such a case in recent months from one of my clients from last year – Hunters Estate Agents in Carshalton.

I carried out some corporate head shots for Fleur and Stacey who are part of the management team.

Normally as is the case with head shots, these generally tend to be used on the company website, some social media profiles, and possibly in some form of print/brochure work.

I was pleasantly surprised to that Hunters had been a little more creative in their usage, and had in fact taken it to a new level; large graphics on their company car!

What a genius idea.

A lot of people might ask why would putting two staff members faces on a car particularly work or be a good thing?

Well, for a start it’s different – it stands out and catches people’s attention as it’s not a regular occurrence so that will be aiding the promotion of the Hunters brand.

Secondly, Hunters pride themselves on a being a family run business, and one that therefore appeals as a more personal estate agent rather than a chain brand like the larger companies.

So with having their faces on the company car means that they will not only be creating brand awareness, but also in many ways personalising the brand and making it more approachable – people will feel that they are dealing with ‘people’ rather than another company.

I’ve popped two photos here below of the ways that Hunters have utilised their head shots for you to see for yourself.

If your company could do with some new head shots, and or if you’d like to have a professional head shot for your social media and Linkedin page – why not check out our commercial photography gallery and drop us a line to discuss how we could help you and your business.

Toddler Portraits

Thought that I’d pop up a post of a recent small portrait session I shot of two young sisters.

Mum had wanted to get some portraits of the two girls together, and so brought them along to the studio here in Carshalton for a session.

As with all things child related, as soon as you start adding multiples of children, the harder the task becomes – trying to get more than one child to engage with the camera at one given point is a tricky thing… I pity those school photographers out there, I’ve no idea how they do it, day in day out – I take my hat off to them!

Anyway, without further ado here’s some of the cute shots from that session.
