Lisa and Mike’s wedding at Morden Park Registry Office was a very intimate affair.
They had planned a small, but very personal wedding that would be witnessed by their nearest and most dearest.
I’ve shot many weddings at Morden Park, and it’s a place that I know very well.
Whilst it is a Registry Office, many people think you’ll be restricted for photographs after the ceremony. Whilst this might be the case for some other Registry Offices, that is never a problem at Morden.
Firstly, the building itself is lovely, and it has a tasteful staircase inside that is the focal point of many a portrait for any wedding that is conducted there. Secondly, the Registry Office hugely benefits from being based in a Park, so there is a big wide, open green space that surrounds the location – a versatile backdrop to quickly navigate the bride and groom off to for some formal portraits.
Naturally, this was no different, and the weather was kind to us so we captured a nice mix of the two.
When you shoot a smaller wedding, it’s always a pleasure, as you’re working with a smaller congregation of family and friends, so the day does tend to have that ‘relaxed’ and intimate feel about it. Also from my own point of view, I get to interact and get to know some of the guests that little bit more through having a larger exposure to them.
There certainly were some characters at Lisa and Mike’s big day, most notably Jane the chief bridesmaid, she provided me with much banter and laughs throughout, it was great fun!
It was a lovely wedding, and you can see a selection of shots from their wedding here directly below…
