A Wedding Thank You Card

Being a wedding photographer certainly has its pressures, but on the flip side it is an incredibly rewarding job giving couples something that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

It’s a lovely feeling knowing that your photos can bring so much joy and happiness to others.

Even more so, when a couple send you a thank-you card personally expressing their gratitude and how happy they are with their wedding photos.

I was lucky enough to receive such a card from one of my recent bride and grooms – Prisha & Graham, having recently captured their big day at The Grange last month.

It’s very touching and humbling, and I know that I’m fortunate to enjoy a job that can give you such fulfilment.

I’ve taken two snap shots of Prisha & Graham’s card here below 🙂

Victoria & Toby’s Wedding at Coverwood Lakes, Peaslake in Surrey

Victoria and Toby’s wedding was a stunning affair – set in one of the most beautiful backdrops that I have yet had the pleasure of photographing.

I hadn’t even been aware of Coverwood Lakes‘ existence prior to Victoria and Toby approaching me to capture their big day.

I’m sure that many of you reading this are probably just as likely to not be familiar with it either?

Basically, it’s private farm based in Peaslake, and it boasts a couple of beautiful lakes within it’s grounds.

The main lake, ironically is the smaller of the two, is surrounded by an amazing collection of trees and stunning gardens which frame it’s boundaries beautifully.

It also boasts a fabulous covered stone walkway, which provides another rich visual focal point within the grounds – this instantly struck me upon my initial visit as an amazing element that would provide some striking portraits.

The owners of the venue obviously realised that the location of the lake and the amazing surrounds would provide a perfect backdrop for a wedding/event reception, and so rather cleverly invested in their own stylish marquee which they erect when required to provide the facilities to house a party without compromising or detracting from the surrounds.

I was extremely impressed, and it was a delight to have had the opportunity to capture Victoria and Toby’s wedding there.

We were fortunate on the day with the weather – as to be fair that is the only potential concern of such a venue.  Whilst it did rain at certain points in the earlier part of the day, luckily it held firm in the latter stages of the afternoon and through into the evening so that one and all could truly enjoy the venue to it’s full capacity.

You can view a video slideshow of Victoria and Toby’s wedding here below, I’m sure you’ll agree with my comments, and I hope that it might help further expose this hidden gem for many other couples to enjoy 🙂

Vicky & Elliott’s Wedding at Chiltern Church and The Grange

After meeting Vicky and Elliott at a wedding fayre, I immediately knew that they would be one of those extremely photogenic couples.

Add to that the bonus that they were to be wed at the chocolate box Chiltern Church in Sutton, and a reception at the lovely The Grange in Beddington Park, meant that we were guaranteed to get some cracking shots!

This was a first for me capturing a wedding at Chiltern Church.  It is not your conventional church, but it is a very picturesque place of worship which lends itself greatly as a romantic backdrop for a wedding.

Any of you who know The Grange, will know that it’s situated in Beddington Park, and is surrounded by lots well maintained flower beds and other natural beauty, all providing many options and vibrant colours for photos.

It was a cracking wedding, and we did indeed capture lots of amazing shots throughout at both venues.  It was an absolute pleasure, and Vicky and Elliott were both great and so relaxed which always help.

You can view a nice array of some of the shots from their day here below:

Baby Abigail’s First Portrait Shoot

We recently had the pleasure of photographing baby Abigail’s first portrait session, along with both mum and dad.

Abigail was around four months old at the time, so we were able to get some shots of her sitting up and suporting her head whilst lying down on her tummy.

She did extremely well, and we got some fab photos.

You can view a handful of them here below…

Kirsty & Duane’s Wedding at St Francis and St Anthony’s Church and the Arora Hotel, Crawley, Surrey

The wedding of Kirsty and Duane took place at St Francis and St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Crawley.

With Duane being of Nigerian origin, there were many of his relatives dressed in the traditional colourful clothes that are normally associated with Nigerian weddings.

This was my first wedding at St Anthony’s, and despite initially having a subdued first impression of the churches exterior I was then pleasantly surprised to discover that the interior design was of stark contrast, and very impressive.

The priest was incredibly accommodating and relaxed, and allowed me a great deal of mobility throughout the whole ceremony which was great – including access to the organ loft to obtain some images from a higher perspective.

As mentioned the exterior of the church is quite modern and doesn’t offer a great deal of character to lend itself to being particularly ‘photogenic’.  There is also only a very small church yard to the side, which doesn’t offer any space for any real image opportunities, although saying that there was an interesting ‘weathered’ door to the rear and side of the church, and we utilised that for a couple of bride and groom portraits prior to moving on to the the reception at the Arora Hotel.

The Arora is a very modern hotel, and this too in itself posed quite a few problems for our additional portraits, but we managed to find a nice mix including the the modern exterior/architecture and some where there was some offerings of natural plantations and greenery.

You can view a handful of the images from the day below, and should you wish to view the remaining images please feel free t have a browse here.
